Bathroom Marble Tile TipsAdditional Tips
Bathroom & Shower Tile Tips and Suggestions A few useful tips to consider that wil help maintain your marble bathroom tile and flooring from a professional bathroom renovation and bathroom remodeling expert. Here is the key to a beautiful marble floor or marble bathroom tile floor. It is a proven fact that it takes at least 7 steps to remove most contaminates from the bottom of a shoe. Make certain that you place mats inside and outside of each of your bathrooms doorway. If you have carpet in the room joining the bathroom, that makes it easier to care for the bathroom and bath tile. If the surface leading to your bathroom is a hard surface, place a carpet runner or something leading to the bathroom or just don't wear shoes in bathroom. If your marble is polished, grit from your shoes will damage it quicker than just about anything. If you can vacuum without scratching the stone, great, but a good dust mop will do just as well. After you dust mop/vacuum, use a good neutral cleaner designed for use on stone. If you live in an area such as Washington, DC, Bethesda Md., Kensington Md., Chevy Chase Maryland or Georgetown in Washington DC with excessively hard tap water, we suggest that you keep a jug of distilled water handy to wet your cloth with. Use a professional penetrating seal (impregnator). This will protect both the grout and stone. Reapply every two or three years or as needed. After quite a few years, if you are maintaining your bathroom floors correctly but the floors are still showing wear, you may wish to have a professional bathroom remodeling or bathroom renovation expert come in and polish/hone the floor to bring it's luster back. Use these same tips to safely protect the marble bathroom tile surrounding your Jacuzzi, shower or bathroom tub. For those that are contemplating using marble or marble bathroom tile for a handicap access bathroom, we recommend that you utilize standard bathroom tile. Standard bathroom tile is much safer for use in a handicap access bathroom because it is far less slippery, when dry or wet. For more information on the correct products to utilize in a handicap access bathroom consult our tips section on handicap access bathrooms or give us a call and one of our bathroom designers or bathroom remodeling experts can help address your questions. |
